Our Art History Seminars with Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf continue with "The Roots of Modern Art in Türkiye".
This seminar focuses on the beginnings of Turkish figurative art, with a focus on developments in art production, art education and the way art was exhibited in the Ottoman Empire from the mid-19th century onwards.
In this context, the seminar begins with “Soldier Painters”, which brings together the first traces of the Western understanding of art with Turkish art, and progresses to the works of early Modern - Avant-garde artists of the mid-20th century.
Our seminar, which will be held on Thursday, October 26th between 11:00-12.30, is open to individual participation.
