Lesson 10: Neo-Modern Art


In this seminar, Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf discusses the aesthetic, conceptual and formal strategies of art between 1945 and 1975. Participants will experience how artists found the strength to develop new strategies to recreate works of art after the immeasurable catastrophe of World War II.



Lesson 11: Postmodernism and Art


This seminar is an introduction to the theories of postmodernism and its impact on the visual arts. Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf demonstrates how artists developed eclectic, pluralistic and heterogeneous works that responded to the postmodern "Anything Goes" imperative between 1975 and 1989.

In this seminar, Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf discusses the strategies of contemporary art from the 1990s to the present. Various formal working methods as well as urgent issues of contemporary art will be presented in order to understand which aesthetic and conceptual trends dominate the contemporary art world.
