In the 1960s and 1970s, Video Art became a new discipline in the visual arts world. Nam June Pail, Bill Viola and Bruce Nauman are considered to be among the first artists to explore the new medium of television as an artistic medium. In this seminar, Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf will discuss the ideas and aesthetic issues of video art by presenting the works of these leading artists.
